As you may know by now, The Amazing Cape Town Treasure Hunt went live earlier today and over the next 3 weeks I will be releasing clues daily to the whereabouts of JOBY Gear and Puma Hampers that are hidden on the mountains and trails around Cape Town.
The way this will work is that each week will have it’s own blog post and I will update the post daily with the clue to a new location.
So, here you go with the very first clue for the week, which is located somewhere on Lions Head and since it is the first clue, I am going to make it SUPER easy!
PLEASE NOTE: IF A TREASURE HAS BEEN REMOVED FROM IT’S LOCATION, THE PERSON THAT FINDS IT HAS 7 DAYS TO CLAIM THE PRIZE OR IT IS RE-HIDDEN.
UPDATE: ALL TREASURES FOR WEEK 01 HAVE BEEN FOUND! CHECK WEEK 02 CLUES TO FIND CLUES TO NEW TREASURES!
Week 01 – Clue 01 {FOUND & CLAIMED}
If you know where this little cave is on Lions Head, where people sometimes stick their heads through, there you’ll find the treasure to this here clue! Be warned, you might get a little dirty finding this treasure!

Week 01 – Clue 02 {FOUND AND CLAIMED}
Today’s treasure has been hidden on the corner of Table Mountain in a cave that overlooks Camps Bay. Beware though, because this is not an easy cave to get to, but once there, you’ll be greeted with a special view that not many have seen before, as well as a treasure that’ll help you capture it on your phone!

Week 01 – Clue 03 {FOUND AND CLAIMED}
Today’s Treasure has seen many people taking a leisurely walk past it, some stopping for a quick swing and others to soak up the views from the top of Camps Bay! Getting there is a little tricky though, considering there’s currently Road Works on the go, but I did recently hear that a lady named Theresa may know a shortcut via a very specific avenue.

Week 01 – Clue 04 {FOUND & CLAIMED}
Today’s clue is going to be a little more tricky, so be prepared to think a little outside the box about where it could be. When searching for today’s treasure, watch out for the man that saw the a star shaped sun glow in the night sky, giving signals to those that thought to look up.

Week 01 – Clue 05 {FOUND & CLAIMED}
To find today’s treasure, you’re going to need to know your way around the trails of Cape Town, because for now, and because of the weather, this is all you’re getting. However, if you’re willing to brave the weather and you have a love for adventure, you’re in for a super cool treasure! If this is not found today, an update to this clue will be released tomorrow.
CLUE UPDATE: Look for a video on my YouTube Channel called Sunset Shadow Vibes and you’ll have an idea as to where this clue may be located.
Please note that this is an unmarked geocache which myself and Carlinn placed here months ago, so only take the official treasure inside, and hide the cache again once you are done. If you get to the cache and the official treasure is gone, better luck next time.

Week 01 – Clue 07 {FOUND AND CLAIMED}
The treasure that awaits you when you figure out Clue Number 07 has the sound of water flowing from underground pipes. Along with the sound of flowing water under your feet, you’ll also be able to stalk a very prominent lion through short cut grass. Beware though, because snakes holes are everywhere, so only hit the track if you really dare!

Week 01 – Clue 08 {FOUND & CLAIMED}
If you can spy a little lion, you might be kicked as a peeping tom, but should you not venture too far into the sand, you’ll find the treasure closer to land. The thing to remember when searching for today’s treasure is that despite the area being quite sandy, the area can also be quite rocky, so should you find yourself with a treasure in hand, be sure to take a few steps forward to enjoy the views from a cute little bench.

Week 01 – Clue 09 {FOUND & CLAIMED}
This treasure has been hidden on a path that hugs the foot of Table Mountain. If you’re lucky enough to find this place, you’ll see a great view of the city and the majestic Lions Head. On hot summer days, this is a great place for a shaded rest while watching tourists pass you on their way to the top.
Congratulations @ezi09 for finding this treasure! Check my blog next week for MORE unfound treasures!

Hi Mike My daughter Janet Moyle and I were at clue 2 about 4:45 and treasure was gone – we assume by a bearded man wearing a red jacket whom we saw walking back from the cave area. Janet did send you an Instagram from the cave. Please update your post that treasure has gone or been stolen. Hope to be quicker tomorrow.
My daughter is visiting from Joburg and enjoyed the walk and views. She usually does Lions Head.

Hi David, thanks for letting me know. Was your daughter wearing a pink top at all because myself and my girlfriend were watching the cave with binoculars from my apartment in Camps Bay and saw someone wearing pink.
If nobody claims the prize in 7 days, a new clue is generated and hidden.
Hi Mike
We were sure a man in a red shirt took the treasure 10 minutes before we were there . Yes she was in an orange/pink shirt and myself in a blue top. What was the treasure? The little mound of stones were disturbed. Could it be the dassies if no one claims the treasure?
She was so disappointed as we thought we were first there. There were no other “hunters” while we were there only some youngsters having sundowners and some mountain runners.
Regards David and Janet
